How it Works

Need Navigator brings your programs and teams together around the individuals you serve. We accomplish this by giving you greater insight into each individual’s life through well thought-out interfaces and smart automations. With our software, it is truly possible to know when an adult you are helping also has a child participating in another program; or whether the student you are seeing now has an older sibling you saw before due to the same emotionally negligent parent. With Need Navigator, all of this is not only possible, but it is already transforming the level of care being provided by the organizations that are using our software.

Individuals are at the core of the Need Navigator system. We recognized early on in the planning stages of developing this product that who your “family” is depends very much on your point of view. For better or worse, viewing individuals through the lens of the traditional nuclear family does not account for a lot of real world cases, these often being the ones that need our love and compassion the most. For this reason, our system simply allows you to create individuals and relate them to the people in their lives with no constraints placed on the number or nature of these relationships.

Individuals

Every bit as important as the individuals you serve are the users who support them — and Need Navigator is built with their needs at the center. From the start, we’ve listened closely to real feedback from real users. If a task was too difficult or time-consuming, we streamlined it. If a workflow was repetitive, we automated it. But we didn’t stop there.

We continue to partner closely with our clients, incorporating their ideas and refining features to better support their day-to-day work. The result? A system that grows with your organization, adapts to your programs, and gives your team more time to focus on care — not clicks.

Users

Programs and Teams work together to help organize the services you are providing. Create programs with multiple distinct teams of users overseeing them and choose individuals to enroll in these programs. Your users can belong to one or all of these teams, which are uniquely designed to help users share the labor involved in caring for the individuals you serve.

Programs each have their own custom intake forms that can be tailored to your specific requirements, and you can customize an individual's profile to seamlessly show program-specific information (e.g. 'School Attended').

Programs & Teams

Organizations are a key pillar of the Need Navigator system. Whether it’s tracking how often a location is used for visits, issuing referrals to a specific service, or managing funders and grant allocations, Need Navigator helps you keep every piece connected.

You can group organizations by types you define, assign them as funders with grant-specific access controls, and monitor disbursements as they draw down from a shared funding pool — all in real time.

Each organization profile also lets you track the services they offer and designate trusted contacts who can access a partner portal to collaborate directly with your team. These outside collaborators don’t count against your license limits, but they do expand your reach and referral power across the community.

Organizations

Out of the box, Need Navigator provides you with helpful demographic information, as well as general statistics, and utilization data. Beyond that, you are able to define custom reports for anything that has been entered into the system, including custom forms that you have created. Reports export to CSV format so you can use and manipulate the data in line with your existing practices.
